Melroy Gallowich has Ass Burgers Syndrome, a disorder that causes him to shit fully-cooked hamburger patties. It also affects his social skills, which is why he can’t get a girlfriend and has no friends other than his kooky cousin/roommate Bob, who’s always finding a way to get on Melroy’s nerves.

But when Melroy loses his job over his inability to defeat a video game boss, it’s his knowledge of Ass Burgers Syndrome that lands him new employment at Burger Lord, whose eponymous CEO thinks burgers taste better if they’ve come from a person’s anus.

Working at Burger Lord is no cakewalk-the kitchen’s a hellhole and the Burger Lord himself is a sadist, but at least he’s better than Melroy’s inadvertently acquired enemies, all of whom will stop at nothing to see him dead. As Melroy battles the chaos that has become his life, however, silver linings emerge. There are new friends to be made, and he might even be on the verge of finding love for the first time in his life—if he can survive long enough.
